Scott Moore is an an associate attorney in the Aleck and Jenkins law firm. After graduating from The Detroit College of Law in 1995, he was sworn into the State Bar of Michigan and then appointed Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Gladwin County in 1996 through 1999. Since then, it was his privilege to serve the People as an assistant prosecutor for Clare County from 2001 through 2003, and most recently, from 2014 through 2016.
This public service was punctuated by a private practice focused on criminal defense and family law matters, spanning more than half the courts in Michigan. Mr. Moore took advantage of many training opportunities to hone his trial skills and knowledge of the law. He was among the first attorneys in the state to effectively use the safe harbor provisions of the Michigan Medical Marijuana Act. His command of child protection law and DHHS policy is well-respected by the local bar leading to successful reunification of families subject to CPS investigations. Mr. Moore believes that effective negotiation is founded on proven ability to win cases at trial; he has tried dozens of cases resulting in victories for his clients.
Over the last twenty years, Mr. Moore has come to understand that substance use disorder is at the bottom of most cases. In that regard, he has developed referral partners for diagnosis and treatment of SUD, serves as an advisor to the Clare/Gladwin Recovery Court, and is a member of the Ten16 Recovery Network Board of Directors. Mr. Moore is an able trial attorney with a proven track record; he is also a counselor at law capable of advising and guiding his clients toward a better path through life.
